A sister and brother, Mary and Tom, Irish children who crossed the ocean in 1886, arrive in New York City and are soon caught up in a completely crazy journey across the United States, traveling on the transcontinental railway "Train for Orphans." There, they meet miraculous new friends who will change their lives forever. Filled with curiosity, friendship, and kindness, their dangerous but exciting journey acquaints them with villains, surprising allies, unexpected heroes and an incredible adventure in this quest for a new home.
