Celebration of the Assumption
The peak of the season in the town of Ugljan is the celebration of the Assumption (Fešta Vele Gospe). This is the day around which many people plan their vacation and visit to Ugljan — a day for the locals, their friends and guests.
The program begins in the morning hours with a traditional shallow-water volleyball tournament on the sandy beach Mostir.
A solemn Holy Mass is held in the late afternoon, followed by a procession through the center of the town carrying the image of Our Lady of Ugljan.
The evening program is filled with performances by famous names of the Croatian music scene, Dalmatian dishes and desserts and great entertainment lasting long into the night.
The Feast of the Assumption is held on August 15th.
