What are we truly afraid of when we are consumed by the fear of artificial intelligence? Is it that same ultimate fear, the one they say is actually the only true one – the fear of the unknown? Fear is a defense mechanism. Because of it, throughout the long history of humanity, we were less frequently killed by saber-toothed tigers, we fell off cliffs less often, and we more regularly made it past our thirties. In a way, fear worked in our favor.

​On the other hand, what if we take courage as its antipode? Because of courage, we learned to hunt mammoths, conquer mountain peaks, and end up in the 27 Club. It seems those thirties are fateful. If I sleep through them in the warm and comfortable safety of my mother's basement, have I truly survived, or have I merely existed? If I leave them behind in a telemarketing cubicle for a measly salary, have I truly survived, or have I merely existed? Generally speaking, have I truly survived, or have I merely existed??? Too many question marks!
